"Resembling people", I know that this title is bit confusing, but, if someone is taking interest in reading this blog, let me tell you in brief that what is inside the content.
This blog is about those people, with whom we meet daily and some of their activity resemble with persons in our life. And then we start finding some of their common behaviour. Like, we often say that this person is just like my father or brother that means, some of his behavior resembles to my father or brother. We try to find out similarities between two persons.
Activity of one person reminds us of another person(who is close to us).
Hope by now, it is clear that what this blog is all about.
So, if you want to read it further, go ahead or else you can leave it here.
I think that we often resemble people with those who are very close to us. Like, I resemble others with my brother Anupam. As my brother is very close to me, so if anyone does activities like him the first thing that strikes my mind is that o! he is doing just like my brother.
But most of the time I do not tell others about this fact, because people might not want to be compared with other. So, I keep it to myself, or sometimes I tell it to Poonam(my room-mate).
Here at C-DAC some boys are there, whom I resemble with my brother, but I would not disclose their names.
I think this is the quality of human mind to observe people and try to identify it with what you have observed or seen previously.
Sometimes instead of resembling a person to another one, we try to identify them with something funny, like animals, birds etc. just for fun. And then we keep their nick names, after that, their original name is forgotten by every one and those nick names are always remembered.
This is what, we all have must done in our school and college, with our seniors,batch mates, teachers or professors. All the teachers must have their nick names which is very popular among students, but that teacher himself does not know about it.
This reminds me of an incidence:
In our school our history teacher was nick named as "Changez Khan" by our seniors, and now, I have forgotten his original name but see the magic of nick name that it is still residing in my memory. And once I was about to use his nick name in front of other teacher, and then I stopped myself. So, nick names sometimes put you in difficulty also.
Here at C-DAC some nick names are also kept for our batch mates, with which everyone is familiar. One person is called Pogo channel, because he is very funny, other one is called Narial,
next chinti, next haathi etc. and many more...............
So if it is just for fun, without hurting any ones feeling or emotion then it is nice.

Laughter
“Laughter is the best medicine.” I think everyone agrees on this point. This is the one phenomenon, in which everyone wants to involve themselves.
I myself love laughing, but it is very important to know, where to laugh and how much to laugh, without hurting anyone. If we are sitting with our friends, having chit-chat in some casual mood, then there is no barrier to laughter. But the scenario becomes different if some serious discussion is going on, for example if we are in some meetings or discussing something important, then, there we have to maintain some decency, and control us.
Now, this is a big demerit with me. I find myself in difficulty, when I have to control my laughter, and situation becomes even worst when there is restriction.
One incidence regarding this:
My grandfather was a very strict person, he never liked any noise specially when he used to watch news on television. Once he was watching news, me and my brother Anupam were sitting beside him. Then, something happened funny, we both(me and Anupam) looked each other and ran to bathroom. Why? Because that was the safest place to laugh. We were laughing continuously there. And when all our laughing was done, we came back.
Since there was restriction in laughing I was not able to control it, there.
But that was a childhood incidence, now I am trying to remove this bad habit.
Anyways, laughing is that action which distresses us. It plays an important role in everyone's life. Imagine the world without laughter. Can you Imagine? No comedy show, no comedy movie like Golmaal, Partner, Andaz apna apna, Munna Bhai etc. no Laughter champions, that means no Raju Srivastav. How boring? Isn't it?
Now a days people in big cities are going through so much stress that, they have to join some laughter club for taking care of there health. So, no doubt it is essential for all but of course in correct amount.
For me, laughing is like another necessity of living. And by God's grace my room partener Poonam is just like me, when laughter is considered. She herself laughes and makes me laugh, whenever I am in tesion.
Sometimes we laugh so much that tears come to our eyes. But all this happens in our room only.
So at the end I just want to say that,laugh as much as you can but at correct place and situation, otherwise you will be in trouble.

Orkut
Orkut is the word to which everyone(specially youngesters) is familiar with.It is not just a word, its a site which allows us to create our own profile and facilitates us to add new friends. It is the way to be connected with our friends and family.
Though we have e-mails, mobile etc. but orkut has its own place.orkut is an Internet social network service run by Google. It is designed to help users meet new friends and maintain existing relationships. Similar to Friendster, orkut goes a step further by permitting communities of users. It is also invitation-only: Users must be invited to join the community by someone already there.
The things which I like the most about orkut is that besides interacting with our friends one can see their photographs,know their likes, dislikes and can check their profile time to time. No matter how far they are from us, when we log on to orkut, distance does not matter we can see them, chat them and interact them.
It works like a post box where our mails are stored and we read it, the only difference is that our scrap book is open and anyone can read it.
One can invite our friends to grow our friend network. But sometimes it irritates when some unknown to you sends friend request and send scraps.
Earlier on receiving such request I wait for few days, if that person is really a genuine person and friend to me, he/she asks me otherwise I ask them about their identity, if that is known to me then I add them to my friend list. Sometimes it happens to me that on asking about their identity, they react in a different manner, probably they might think that I am triying to act smart or I am a proud person. But it really bothers me that how can I add a person whome I never interacted and whome I do not know.
But anyways every one has their own mindset and standards. But in contrast to this now there are few persons in my orkut friend list whome I seldom interacted. Probably this is the latest trend, with which I am not aware of earlier.
Besides all these demerits I like my presence on orkut and I am enjoying it.

Last Sunday class.
Classes on Sunday? Isn't it surprising?But its true, we had a class on last Sunday. That was our data structure class. Raman sir teaches us data structure. He took class that day, that class was basically for a revision.
He started from the very beginning. The first topic discussed was array. Markandey one of our batch mates had raised a problem on two dimension array, so, that was the first topic discussed there.
Next he moved to stack, queue and recursion. Almost everyone has some problem with recursion.
We do not have much problem with stack and queue, but when our MGPA question was asked on queue, I was not able to do it, though it was not a tough one.
Anyways, later he discussed link list and tree. He started with a quick recap of difference between a binary tree and BST. All the operations in a BST is not so tough as compared to deletion. Here is the process for deletion of tree.

Deletion in tree:
- Determine Node to be deleted is the left child(LC) or the right child(RC) of its parent.
- When leaf is to be deleted-First findnode which is to be deleted, then findparent, check LCorRC. Then delete it.
- When Node to be deleted has only one child-First findnode. then findparent, check LCorRC. Finally delete it by attaching LC (or RC which is not nul) to its parent.
While teaching he often asks the complexity of insertion and retrival of data in each and every data structure. So, I think by now every one has remembered the complexity of link list, queue, tree etc.
Sir always tries to make an interactive conversation with students.Earlier, I have never coded for data structure, but here at C-DAC I have learnt how to code for stack, queue, link-list and tree.

Flowers
Flowers...Flowers...Flowers. It is really nice to see flowers around u. I think flowers are a beautiful way to express your feelings. We can wish our near and dear ones with a bouquette or just a single flower with a sweet smile,(on the days important them) that works wonderfully.
Even in our prayer and worship we use different kinds of flowers. So, there, flowers are the way to send our feelings and prayers to the GOD.
Today I want to tell something about roses as these are my favourite ones. I have collected some interesting facts from internet about roses and I want to publish it here.
Roses are one of the most popular garden shrubs, as well as the most popular and commonly-sold florists' flowers. In addition to their great economic importance as a florists' crop, roses are also of great value to the perfume industry.
Many thousands of rose hybrids and cultivars have been bred and selected for garden use, mostly double-flowered with many or all of the stamens mutated into additional petals. As long ago as 1840 a collection numbering over one thousand different cultivars, varieties and species was possible when a rosarium was planted by Loddiges nursery for Abney Park Cemetery, an early Victorian garden cemetery and arboretum in England. Twentieth-century rose breeders generally emphasized size and color, producing large, attractive blooms with little or no scent. Many wild and "old-fashioned" roses, by contrast, have a strong sweet scent.
Roses thrive in temperate climates, though certain species and cultivars can flourish in sub-tropical and even tropical climates, especially when grafted onto appropriate rootstock.
There is no single system of classification for garden roses. In general, however, roses are placed in one of three main groups:

Beauty of Hindi movie.
Every one likes seeing movies, does not matter hindi or english. But I prefer to see hindi movies, because they are related to us, though some of them are remake or copy of english movies. I think when a director copies an english movie he moulds it to the taste liked by an Indian audience or spectator.
I think the real beauty of a hindi movie are its songs(besides its story, location etc.). Songs are liked by every one.
Songs are really the refreshing one, especially the Hindi movie songs. No matter how tensed are you, listen a good melodious song, definitely you will feel refresh for few moment. For some time one can forget all our tension, so thanks to all our singers and composers.
I think everyone likes the songs, but some times we listen people saying that songs composed now-a-days are not as good as those composed earlier, which is true up to some extent, because most of the songs now are mixture of hindi, punjabi and english and also the music is bit noisy, which is acceptable by youngesters, but not by others.we often hear elder people critisizing Himesh Reshamiya's songs, but he has a very big fan following of youngesters and kids. Now-a-days he is a hit composer and singer too.
But anyways the music which is pleasent to ear are good to hear.It is true that the songs composed by the music directors in old days were more melodious and pleasent than that of todays' song, but even today songs composed by A.R. Rehman, Shankar Ehsan Loy and many more are good to listen, but again it depends on your choice, everyone has their own choice.My father likes the old songs, my younger cousins like Himesh Reshamiya's kind of songs, Disco and dance number, so all have different tastes according to their choice.But one thing is commom among all is that all likes songs.when we are talking about songs how can we forget to talk about Lata Mangeshkar. She is the melody queen. Everbody likes songs sung by her.But one thing I can say that songs are liked by everyone and it has a big role in uniting the indian, there are lots of encouraging songs in favour of our nation, likes and sung by all irrespective of cast, community and religion.

Rastrapati Bhawan
Rastrapati Bhawan is not just a building, but it includes a history in itself.It is the pride of India and each every Indian is proud of it. That huge building tells its story. I do not know that what ever it has seen till now (from inside and outside). But, I have tried to search all these facts. So here are those facts.
The splendour of the Rashtrapati Bhavan is multi-dimensional. It is a vast mansion and its architecture is breathtaking. More than these, it has a hallowed existence in the annals of democracy for being the residence of the President of the largest democracy in the world. Few official residential premises of the Head of the State in the world will match the Rashtrapati Bhavan in terms of its size, vastness and its magnificence.
The present day Rashtrapati Bhavan was the erstwhile residence of the British Viceroy. Its architect was Edwin Landseer Lutyens. The decision to build a residence in New Delhi for the British Viceroy was taken after it was decided in the Delhi Durbar of 1911 that the capital of India would be shifted from Calcutta to Delhi in the same year. It was constructed to affirm the permanence of British rule in India. This building gave the impression, in the words of a critique, the setting of a perpetual Durbar. The building and its surroundings were supposed to be 'an empire in stone', 'exercising imperial sway' and containing in it, "the abode of a disinterested elite whose rule was imposed from above". That 'empire in stone' and the perpetual Durbar was transformed to be the permanent institution of democracy on 26th January 1950 when Dr. Rajendra Prasad became the first President of India and occupied this building to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of India. It was from that day that this building was renamed as Rashtrapati Bhavan - the President's House.
Apart from Edwin Lutyens, the Chief architect and Chief Engineer Hugh Keeling there were many Indian contractors who were involved in the construction of this building. While a Muslim contractor Haroun-al-Rashid did most of the work of the main building the forecourt was built by Sujan Singh and his son Sobha Singh. Surprisingly the names of these Indians did not find a place in the official biography of Lutyens.
The sanctioned amount for the building was earmarked at 400,000 pounds. However the long span of seventeen years required for the construction of the building raised its cost to 877,136 pounds (then Rs. 12.8 million). The actual amount incurred in not only the construction of the building but also the Mughal Garden and the staff quarters amounted to Rs. 14 million. Edwin Lutyens was reported to have remarked that the money invested in the construction of the building was smaller in amount as compared to the cost of two warships.
It is interesting to note that the building which was scheduled to be completed in four years took seventeen years and on the eighteenth year of its completion India became independent.
This vast mansion has got four floors and 340 rooms. With a floor area of 200, 000 square feet it is built by using 700 million bricks and three million cubic feet of stone. Hardly any steel has gone into the construction of the building.
The most prominent and distinguishing aspect of Rashtrapati Bhavan is its dome which is superimposed on its structure. It is visible from a distance and the most eye-catching round roof with a circular base in the heart of Delhi. While Lutyens ostensibly acknowledged the design of the dome to the pantheon of the Rome, it is very strongly believed by informed analysts that the dome was structured in the pattern of the great Stupa at Sanchi. The pre-dominance of Indian architecture in the dome is evident from the fact that it is encircled by railings of Sanchi origin. In fact the whole of Rashtrapati Bhavan embodies in it Indian architectural patterns such as Buddhist railings, chhajjas, chhatris and jaalis.
Chhajjas are stone slabs which are fixed below the roof of a building and are designed for the purposes of preventing the sunrays from falling on the windows and protecting the walls from the rains in the monsoon. Chhatris adorn the rooftops of the building and make an exception to the horizontal line through their elevated positions. Jaalis, like chhajjas and chhatris, are also of typical Indian designs which add beauty to the architecture of the Rashtrapati Bhavan. Jaalis are the stone slabs containing lots of perforations which are designed with delicate floral and geometric patterns. Lutyens very carefully used chhajjas, chhatris and jaalis and skillfully harnessed the utility of these designs by deploying them at appropriate places. In few of the jaalis that are installed in the Rashtrapati Bhavan, Lutyens also blended European styles to further enhance their aesthetics and utility.
Another redeeming feature of the architecture of the Rashtrapati Bhavan is the use of Indian temple bells in its pillars. It is well known that the temple bells constitute part and parcel of our composite culture, particularly that of Hindu, Buddhist and Jain traditions. Blending these bells with the Hellenic style architecture is a fine example of the fusion of Indian and European designs. Such bells are conspicuous in their absence in the North Block, South Block and in Parliament House. It is interesting to note that the ideas to adopt such bells in the pillars of Rashtrapati Bhavan came from a Jain temple at Moodabidri in Karnataka.
When Chakrabarty Rajagopalachari assumed the office as the first Governor General of India and became the occupant of this building he preferred to stay in a few rooms which is now the family wing of the President and converted the then Viceroy's apartments to be the Guest Wing where the Heads of State of other countries stay during their visit to India.

Blending these bells with the Hellenic style architecture is a fine example of the fusion of Indian and European designs. Such bells are conspicuous in their absence in the North Block, South Block and in Parliament House. It is interesting to note that the ideas to adopt such bells in the pillars of Rashtrapati Bhavan came from a Jain temple at Moodabidri in Karnataka.
When Chakrabarty Rajagopalachari assumed the office as the first Governor General of India and became the occupant of this building he preferred to stay in a few rooms which is now the family wing of the President and converted the then Viceroy's apartments to be the Guest Wing where the Heads of State of other countries stay during their visit to India.
The might and authority of the people of India, which pervades this Republic is represented by the President of the country, whose official residence is the Rashtrapati Bhavan and the architecture of which fascinates as much the ardent architects as the common people across the globe.
Family
Everyone needs to have a family. It is the supporting pillar in everyone's life. It consists of mummy,papa, brothers, sisters, grandparents, uncles, aunties and cousins, but what I am talking about is of a joint family. Now-a-days, nuclear family has taken the place of a joint family and it is growing day by day.
What does a family mean? Is being together, or living together under one roof is family?NO. A family is tied together with the bond of emotion, respect, love and affection. If one is not living together still one care for our loving ones, then this is the family.
Sometimes we might come across that people are living together, still they seldom talk each other, though they are family members(so called). They are family to outside world but for themselves they are strangers.This is not the family in real sense.
I think what makes a family happy, is how strong our relationship is, with members of our family. If relationship is very strong everything is fine, otherwise it will collapse someday.
By that strong relationship I mean to say, that how much do one talk to our family, how much do we share our feelings and how much we listen to them patiently.
If I talk about my family my parents are at Patna, me and my brother are residing at hostel away from home, though we are not living together but still we are family. We care for each other, we often talk and share our feelings.This mobile technology has really helped us in being together.
Now a question arises, why do we need to have a family? This question reminds me of a proverb "man is a social animal". We are living in a civilized socity, and sometimes we need a support in the time of crisis. That time we essentially need our family. It is the family which does not let us feel down, and encourage.
So, ultimately I can say like, air, water and food, family is essensial for the survival of human being. So respect your family members and take care of them.
